If it comes to it (I send this via email over IRC because it's more of a public commitment) I will write you a capatcha system for your mediawiki version, whether that means downgrading the capatcha thing, or using gd to write some lines over some numbers, or whatever. You REALLY really need to set up a recapatcha thing, it's really easy to do and would stop all that spam. That comes back to outdated and not maintained Debian packages, which doesn't support current version of recaptcha.
