looks like it would be useful to have some official 64x64 logo/icon. Right now it would be useful for GSoC website, but I'm sure I've seen such requirement somewhere else as well. Any volunteer to do that? :-)

Preferably with sailboat and with full text "phpMyAdmin". The closest thing I was able to find is this:
