Well I suppose it's like Microsoft Windows being the blame for Botnets because people didn't install security updates. I don't find it as bad. Rather a good sign that it is that popular ;-)

Reading the comments most people know this is not phpMyAdmin's fault, but it is due to bad configuration/practise, but it's a pity our project is mentioned this way. :s
