I have made the pull request :)
As I specify, the patch is only a first approach, there is a lot of work to be done.
I only did it so soon beacuse of the GSoC application, but I'm gonna work on it in the future anyways :D

Oh, and git isn't so bad after all!

You may, but don't need to create a new branch.
Making a pull request from your forked master branch is fine, too!
