I suggest we switch to 2.3.0, but put a download link on phpmyadmin.net for important patches on 2.2.6: for example the russian lang file.
I would really not like to branch a devel version.

I noticed that the CVS link on the phpMyAdmin website to the current CVS version is labelled as "CVS version 2.2.7-cvs". Shouldn't this be "CVS version 2.3.0-cvs"?
