After seeing this commit [0] I expect we can improve our codebase.
Can someone have a look to find (and test) a better sprintf js library (GPL-compatible)? Maybe [1] which is licensed under the so-called MIT license, which is GPL-compatible.

Yeah, I think we could do with more formatting options when displaying js messages to users.

Actually, original version of this one is already in use within jqplot and
it quite fulfills formatting tasks for charts, so I also think it is a good option.
