I just made a chmod -R g+rwx /home/groups/p/ph/phpmyadmin/htdocs
Could you please delete some old phpMyAdmin rc version (2.2.0rc2) that are at the root of our SF account?
but now there are also many files I can't change myself, so I guess it would be good if everybody who updated something on the shell server could run the same command now and then after every update. This way this problem will be solved (I hope :)
Done for me :)
Uh, this looks really nice :) But don't you think choice between "light"
and
"plain" left frame mode should be offer also to the end user?
yes & no :) it would be ok, but only if we start with the "light" mode
first.
I agree.
I think it would be ok to keep the current left.php, while adding he config variable, and for example an index-light.php in case somebody would like to see the left-light.php directely even if the config variable is set to "standard view".
What do you think of having the light version as default one in the config file and using cookies to store the end-enser prefered version once he will choose one of them?

done. I guess we could also remove all these old cvs dirs: drwxrwsr-x 3 loic1 phpmyadm 4096 Oct 27 06:45 cvs-1004190330 drwxrwsr-x 2 swix phpmyadm 4096 Nov 9 07:18 cvs-1005319135 drwxrwsr-x 2 swix phpmyadm 4096 Nov 16 09:47 cvs-1005932823 drwxrwsr-x 3 loic1 phpmyadm 4096 Nov 24 00:52 cvs-1006591933 drwxrwsr-x 3 loic1 phpmyadm 4096 Dec 2 09:28 cvs-1007314137 drwxrwsr-x 3 loic1 phpmyadm 4096 Dec 6 14:52 cvs-1007679160 ?

mmm, well, I'm asking myself if it's worth to work so much on this little thing: do you think the majority of PMA users will be interested to use the "light" mode ?

I think the majority of sysadmins will like the light mode!
But another question: should we keep the current left frame mode?

that is right... :) but for example on my servers, there are 2-3 sysadmins for about 50 "basic" users... But every user has only one db, so that is right, it wouldn't make a difference...
But another question: should we keep the current left frame mode?
there is lot of work in the current left.php3 and all the JS stuff, so that would nearly be sad to "throw" everything away, but it seems to be the right question... I would say the light-mode, if well programmed, would be enough... and you?

Yes it would be sad, and since this is not my code I feel a bit guilty to say this, but let's face it: there are some browsers where it's nearly impossible to make the expansion/contraction work well. And I really like the speed improvement.
As for the other reason to keep the current left frame (to compare dbs), the easy solution is to open 2 browser windows.
But maybe there are other reasons.

Me too!
What about the cvs* directories? Should we keep only the current one "cvs" and the previous one "cvs-thedate"?
And inside the "cvs", what is the purpose of keeping the tree there, now that the demo is is ./phpMyAdmin?
