Hi, "Range Search Capability" is one feature in the "Interface improvements" collection of features. The student who will be chosen is expected to implement the whole collection during GSoC.
At this point, you are expected to read and follow http://wiki.phpmyadmin.net/pma/GSoC_2014_Applicant_Guide.
You should show us your skills by implementing a feature that has *not* been scheduled in the ideas list, or by fixing a bug.
