I'll have a look at this asap but as far as I remember
these are 2 different cases indeed.

NB: the version I've sent you this morning does not
       have such a problem ;)

Yep: I've just fixed the bug #456254 - Crash select on a
table. Wait a minut and I'll update the CVS tree.
