phpMyAdmin is currently under GPL v2 and as I read 
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affero_General_Public_License the AGPL is 
not compatible with GPL v2.

I don't know about all the intricaties of switching license for our 
software and I don't see any urgency about doing so.
