I would suggest "phpMyAdmin metadata", however people are more and more
just saying "pmadb" so I wonder if we could just officialize "pmadb"?

There (and in the doc) we could say
"pmadb is a database that is used internally to hold metadata for
additional features."

However it's not always a database (it can be part of a user's database).
