I guess that the PMA_Config object is not loaded.

In the original theme the line looks like:
    font-size: <?php echo (null !==
$GLOBALS['PMA_Config']->get('fontsize') ?
$GLOBALS['PMA_Config']->get('fontsize') : $_COOKIE['pma_fontsize']); ?>;

My first guess would be that it throws the same error... but you could
try it.
