If people like the theme in general but would like some changes, they
can always make those changes and create their custom (derived) theme.
And maybe even submit it to the tracker. The themes are supposed to be
under GPL 2 (or compatible), so this is possible. ;)

Or contact the the original designer and merge their proposal with the
original theme...
