I also prefer the sailboat. Maybe you can

git clone git://phpmyadmin.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/phpmyadmin/data

and have a look at the other_logo/logo.svg which is the official logo,
redrawn in SVG by Michael Keck a year ago.

P.S. Let's find a better name for this repository :)
