I can't reproduce, because I don't have PHP 5.2 lying around, but it seems that you already fixed this issue in commit c3f27965 [0]. JT reported/tested this issue with the code before you did this commit [0], that's probably why he gets this error and you can't reproduce it. BTW : create_function() is already supported in PHP 4.
