I'm not sure either. Any particular reason why we might have decided not to put in the ideas list? Did we consider that to be too generic?

It's not too generic. One reason could be that it touches too many scripts, but I think it can be done.
I added it in the ideas list.

I believe we mentioned that a too generic proposed project for GSoC should be avoided. But this one seems specific enough. ;)
