Hi devels
I thought about integrating OpenGIS datatypes in phpMyAdmin. They are available for mysql >= 4.1. What do you think about integrating them? Should we make them work for PMA 2.6.0 or not?
Marcel
I suggest we should start thinking about a release date for the first release candidate (RC1). The main goal for 2.6.0 is charset support.
Ok. I'll make an feature request entry for OpenGIS support.
Is May 9th realistic?
I think it would be better to wait for a alpha release feedback. If we get positive feedback May 9th could be realistic.
Marcel
Marcel,
we have no alpha releases. When we feel the code is stable and the target release goals are achieved, we have a release candidate.

Marc, we haven't released alpha versions yet, but on the private mailing list we discussed to release one for 2.6.0 in order to get more testers for DBI and especially for the new MySQLi support, didn't we?
The code was changed heavily, so it should really be tested before we can be sure that it is stable enough for a release candidate. I'm pretty sure that we can get more testers for this alpha release than we usually have on our RCs: the people are waiting for a MySQL 4.1 compatible PMA! We just need to tell them that PMA 2.6 is going to be the sexiest PMA ever! :-)
About May 9th: I'd agree with Marcel here. Let's roll the alpha soon and if the feedback is OK, May 9th for RC1 would be okay for me. Can we try to release the final version on June 2nd? I know, it's a Wednesday, but it's my 20th birthday and I'd be glad to roll the release on that day. :-)
Regards,

Ok then for 2.6.0-alpha. Tomorrow? Or after the auto-logout problem is cleared?
It's ok for me to release on a Wednesday ;)
