Michal, is it possible to mark a string as "Do not translate"? See [0]. [0] https://sourceforge.net/p/phpmyadmin/bugs/3933/ -- Marc Delisle http://infomarc.info

Yes, just don't put __() mark around it. But maybe it would be better to use proper writing "OpenDocument" as some languages seem to translate/transcribe this: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%BC%80%E6%94%BE%E6%96%87%E6%A1%A3%E6%A0%BC%... https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenDocument -- Michal Čihař | http://cihar.com | http://phpmyadmin.net

I feel endless discussions coming on this issue :/ For the case we have in the bug report (German translation) we could use this translation: Dokument öffnen (OpenDocument). By the way, I believe that our original English message should have said "OpenDocument" rather than "Open Document". -- Marc Delisle http://infomarc.info

As the translation originates from Export formats, do not use 'Dokument öffnen.' This refers only to the action of opening a document, but not to a transliteration of the ODT format. Use 'OpenDocument' w/o spacing.

It's probably too late for 4.0, let's target 4.1 for this? -- Marc Delisle http://infomarc.info

If there are more bad translations like this one, it would be better to do this in 4.0 as well. I think that having not translated OpenDocument string is better than wrong translation. -- Michal Čihař | http://cihar.com | http://phpmyadmin.net
