I have been thinking about this for a few years and I approve your idea.
I'm not sure how far we should grow phpMyAdmin into a reporting tool but
we already have some kind of reports (for example, PDF export) so I
think this could be acceptable.

I am using Linux, but if you don't find anything that works for you, you
could install Sun's Virtualbox + some Linux distro in a virtual machine.
Works like a charm.
