Hi,
Working on bug 956744, something looks suspicious (at least to me) in
MySQL 4.1.1:
CREATE TABLE `tab1` (
`id` int(11) NOT NULL default '0',
PRIMARY KEY (`id`)
) TYPE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1;
INSERT INTO `tab1` VALUES (1);
INSERT INTO `tab1` VALUES (2);
INSERT INTO `tab1` VALUES (40);
CREATE TABLE `tab2` (
`id` int(11) NOT NULL default '0',
PRIMARY KEY (`id`)
) TYPE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1;
INSERT INTO `tab2` VALUES (1);
INSERT INTO `tab2` VALUES (2);
INSERT INTO `tab2` VALUES (3);
INSERT INTO `tab2` VALUES (4);
mysql> select id from tab1 where id in (select id from tab2);
+----+
id
+----+
1
2
+----+
2 rows in set (0.00 sec) // ok
mysql> select id from tab1 where id not in (select id from tab2);
Empty set (0.00 sec) // what?
mysql> select id from tab1 where id not in (1,2,3,4);
+----+
id
+----+
40
+----+
1 row in set (0.00 sec) // ok
OK, they do not mention NOT IN here:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/ANY_IN_SOME_subqueries.html
Someone got an explanation?
Marc
Hi all,
With older mysql extension, when I wanted to connect to localhost,
I was using
host = localhost
connect_type = tcp
and it made a socket connection. That's why the "tcp" default worked
most of the time.
Now with mysqli, it no longer works: I have to tell "socket" in connect_type.
Please confirm this behavior.
Also, looking at the php manual for both mysql and mysqli,
I wonder if we should keep the connect_type parameter.

Hi Tom!
now, I've refreshed... is the shadow good?

You might want to lower the distance and size of the shadow to 1 or 2

Hi,
now, some people don't want symbols like an elephant or an
orca (and of course dolphines to).
I know there may be some trademarks or some analogy to other
things (elephant <> PostgreSQL, dolpnine <> MySQL).
So I've drawed a complete new symbol for PMA and I hope it
has no analogy or trademarks on it, because I've nothing
found on web wich have to do with it ;)
This logo is complete (the first were to) drawed (pixle 2 pixle)
by me self.
The new symbol: a WALRUS.
A walrus combines two animals, wich I've used in my first
draws: the elephant and a fish (orca, dolphine etc.).
Now you can see it under:

What do U think about it?
Regards
Michael (mkkeck)
to Marc:
Of course, there may be a bigger version available.
I will send it on afternoon
How big (400px * 100px as banner or so)?
This little pma_logo_work was done primary for
the left frame...
to Michal:
Okay, I will move the 'php' down to 'MyAdmin', is
that you mean?
I've tried it yesterday, but seems not so good.
No I will redo.

Hi all!
Now for redesign, yesterday I've made a logo for
PMA wich can be viewed under
http://www.michaelkeck.de/pma/pma_logo_work.png.
Would you like that - or is there any point,
wich can be made better?
Best regards

Hi All!
I just had a go at the non-light left frame and grouped/nested tables. Formerly
if you clicked on any of the groups you where taken to the full table properties
overview. It would be nice to only see the tables in the group.
When I evaluated the functions which iterate through the available tables I
found out that if the ToolTip-Function is enabled the SHOW TABLE STATUS is done
twice, unneccesarily IMHO. I reduced that into one step and don't think that
could break anything. But I would ask you to carefully revise if you see any
issues with this.
At least on my setup with 300 tables this definitely speeds up my whole display.
I escaped the submitted $tbl_group variable to SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM ... LIKE
'...' with no special escaping. Do you think this is needed? I only tested with
common table names, to weird special characters used.
There is one thing, though: Previously the tooltips where evaluated from Tables
in use. Now the tables in use are not getting a SHOW TABLE STATUS, but I think
the new behaviour is more what is wanted.
If you feel somewhat unsafe with the patch please let me know. I definitely like
the benefit. :-)
Regards,
Garvin.
