You have my fully agreement on this point :)

Well the only things that may differ inside the stylesheet
from one language to another are the font face and the
font size. Then I'm not sure three file are required.
Moreover you know how crappy is NN4 with CSS:
for example a child selector rarely inherit the rules applied
to its parent. In our case it means the font face may have
to be repeated inside each of the selector defnition.
With this is mind, I'm unfortunatly not sure a common css can be used.
Actually we faced the problem with
phpMyChat, that's the reason why I can detail.
My suggestion is only one file (let's say 'stylesheet.php') called this way:
<?php
$css_url = urlencode("/stylesheet.php?fontFace=$strFontFace&
textDirection=$strTextDirection");
?>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<?php echo $css_url; ?>" />

I'm afraid you can't rename a branch. And to remove a branch
you'll have to open a request to the main SF tracker.

Right. I agree too.

OK. I've merged most of the patch submitted to the patch tracker a
few hours ago. I'll try to clean this tracker during the week-end.
For the login/logout problems I'm still searching for the best
solution.
I'll also try to send Marc an example of the upload problem as soon
as I can find some time to do it.

Loïc

Hi,
I would appreciate your feedback on those suggestions. I don't want to
hurt anybody's feelings with this.
1. We erase the "stable" branch and rename phpMyAdmin-devel to
phpMyAdmin. It will be easier to work on a single branch. For me, cvs
means development. Developers are encouraged to try really big changes
on their machines first, discuss them on the -devel mailing list, them
commit them to cvs.
2. We release the cvs phpMyAdmin (which was -devel) as v2.2.0 in the
next few days.
3. This version will not be perfect, the docs won't be complete, but it
works quite well. Releasing it will generate more interest, more
testing in the field.
4. Maybe v2.2.1 will have better docs, if developper time permits. I
would like to work on an integrated Documentation.html. And better
translations...
5. We remove the "unofficial" mention. For me, Tobias comment:
"I like your version and would like it to be the official version."
is enough to mark it "official".
6. Accept the fact that for now, we can't have a presence on phpwizard.

You can't ...
But you can make a javascript function doing what the php function db_name() does (using MYSQL_MAJOR_VERSION and MYSQL_MINOR_VERSION defined as javascript variables via php).

Hi,
in user_details.php3 there is this js code:
sql += " ON " + db + "." + table
and to support special characters in db names, I would like to call the php function db_name() with
the js db variable. How can I switch to php into the js code?
Marc
Hi,
i have found a strange phpMyAdmin reaction.
if you insert a string like this:
-snip-
for ($i=0,$str="";$i<=255;$i++) $str.=chr($i);
mysql_query("insert into table (xy) values('".AddSlashes($str)."')");
-snap-
.. into a blob field, you can't edit and save this row if you use
phpMyAdmin.
the question is, it is a bug or a feature, because it saves the binary data.

Hi All!
Sorry not to send replies bofore but I'm really busy these

Well can't find a way to fix this bug yet and I think this can't
be done. BTW the current authentification system is not so
good because it only works with Apache and php loaded as a module... very
restrictive conditions as to me.
Unfortunatly I can't find time to think about a better way to
implement such a feature.
So you can release a new version when you want to.
Cheers,
Loïc

Strangely, it works like a charm on my win32 apache/php4/mysql box.

Hi,
i have split the get_table_content function in lib.inc.php3
to two versions: an old version (original) and a new for
PHP > 4.0.5.
I have complete rewrite this function and its more than
5 times faster :-)
Also the Dump its more mysqldump compatible (99%), smaller and
maybe we can sometimes include a deflate routine ...
but we must test it...

Hi,
i have radical change the position of constant definition
to a new file: defines.inc.php3.
the problem is, lib.inc.php3 is a little bit chaos.
(someone must tidy up ;-)
maybe we should define all internal variables in future
in this new file, instead of config.inc.php3.
