Hi all,
I am arush and would like to start contributing to phpmyadmin. I am a
newbie. I looked at the following issue in github :-
https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/issues/6098
but i dont know from where to start. I started from index.php and the code
keeps on diverging to different files.
Any help will be appreciated

https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/graphs/contributors should give
you some idea.
But these also include commits for translations via Weblate.

There's a report[1] from a user who recently upgraded to PHP7 and is
getting the Cannot log in to the MySQL server error message with
phpMyAdmin. He's done quite a bit of troubleshooting and I don't see
anything obviously wrong with his setup. I'd be delighted if some other
developers could look over the question and see if they can find some
hint here.
Thanks

Hi team,
As seen on Stackoverflow[1], there's a bit of a syntax problem when
importing from MySQL to MariaDB in that MariaDB doesn't seem to accept \\''
Just checking, this doesn't seem to me like anything we can control nor
like anything we should check for, but what do you think?

Dear Lady/Sir,
I need of free informations on Your software, because I am absolutely non expert (and not very rich actually) and I did free download (GNU) of this program only for Study better php language, as indicated on a e-book (2015) with exercises.
I resume what I would like to know from You :
1. I accepted the licence on line but I read only the first part. Can I have a licence in pdf format?
2. I’m very honest, but I don’t know, actually, international laws on php and similar. Can I use, after training, Your program for commercial use?
3. Can You give me a little general explanation on the system?
4. (Last, but not least) How can insert my first php script in a page; how can I create the first page?
The following issues : I will study more only if I will know that it is all legal from my position.
Thank’s for attention and sorry for my temporarely ignorance (also in writing You).
All this system, like “open source”, is a very important action of Your Society (if I understood well).
I’ll wait an answer.
Best regards
Luca
As you may recall from the last IRC meeting, I'm working on testing and
documentation around issue #6137 [0] by removing some
features/plugins/libraries and testing/documenting my success.
So far I've had good luck with removing some things (for instance
tcpdf), but I've discovered two noteworthy problems.
1) When js/jqplot/ is removed, "Status -> Query statistics" does not
fail gracefully, it instead offers to submit a report to the error
reporting server.
2) when libraries/gis/ is removed, "Visulize GIS data" does not fail
gravefully, instead it gets stuck on saying "Loading..."
In comparison, something that degrades very well is the removal of
tcpdf; if the pdf library is missing the export dialog simply doesn't
show PDF as an export type.
So my question is what you think we should do about this -- this is
clearly beyond the scope of what is normally expected; it's not normal
for a user to remove libraries and code, but in order for this feature
request to be improved I think the code should handle this better.
Should we spend time on this?
