Hi there,
I've just pushed the new sprites implementation to master and updated
the relevant wiki page [1]. Please take the time to read this
documentation. Thank you.
If you have any feedback on the matter, I'd love to hear it.

Hi there,
I find that there are a number of problems with the current
implementation of the CSS sprites in phpMyAdmin. So I took the time fix
them and I'd appreciate some feedback on this.
First of all, adding/removing icons to/from the sprites, as described in
the Wiki[1] is a cumbersome manual process. So I've created a shell
script, "scripts/generate-sprites", that completely automates this
process (requires ImageMagick). This script is also called from
"create-release.sh" for good measure.
Another issue is that PMA is not aware of the presence of the sprites.
This means that all themes for older versions of PMA won't display any
icons, since PMA will just blindly apply the new sprites classes (which
don't exists in these older themes) to icons. Also, developers are
required to pass an extra argument to "PMA_getIcon()" to indicate that a
particular icon is not available as a sprite. This IMO should be
avoided. To fix these issues I created two new function, both are called
"PMA_getImage()". One is for PHP and another is for JavaScript. These
functions read data that is generated by the "generate-sprites" script
and make PMA aware of which icons are available as sprites and which
ones aren't for every theme.
The code is available for scrutiny in the "sprites" branch of my public
repo [2].
So, if there are no objections, I will merge with master in a few days
time and update the relevant Wiki page to reflect this change.

Hi ,
I am using PHP myadmin and I am not able to find privileges as I want to
change the access with the username and password. It would be great if you
can help me with this.

Hi,
In the 3.4 family (QA_3_4) running on my test server, when testing the
Designer and clicking on "Show/hide left menu", nothing happens except
that my Firefox 6 console complains about a Content Security Policy
violation.
On the same server, trying version 3.5 (master) works fine. Both version
have in libraries/header_http.inc.php the line that emits a
X-Content-Security-Policy header.
In 3.4, if I remove this line, all works fine.

Hello guys,
This may not be entirely related to phpMyAdmin, but I still hope I can get
some help here :)
I'm using the Google Summer of Code Project as my bachelor's thesis and I've
gotten request from my mentor that it should be proofread by other persons
than me.
So I'd be really glad if some would find the time to fly over my paper and
let me know what I've messed up ;-)
The paper is available here: http://www.tyron.at/tmp/thesis.pdf (not
entirely finished yet)
Thanks a lot,
- Tyron
Hi all,
In PMA 3.5, $cfg['PropertiesIconic'] = true has been applied to 'Query
results options' section and even to the fieldset legend of 'Bookmark this
SQL query' section (Pls see the attached screenshots). Should
$cfg['PropertiesIconic'] = true be applied globally? Or should it only be
applied to "db and table properties links (like 'Browse', 'Select',
'Insert', ...)." as per documentation.

Hi Aris,
could you have a look at this issue? After doing a simple table search,
grid editing is not active on the results.

Hi there,
I think that there is a problem with the current implementation of the
PMA_ajaxShowMessage() function. The issue is that it has a fixed 5sec
timeout. For error messages I think that it's too little, but for info
messages it's way too much. I remember someone already mentioning here
on the list this exact problem (though can't remember who or when).
I wrote a patch [1] that increases the ajax message timeout to 10s and
offers the users the possibility to dismiss any ajax message. With this
patch applied, the user is shown a tooltip when hovering a notification,
which lets him/her know that by clicking on the notification, it will be
removed. However this tooltip is hidden when the user hovers over a link
or a button, since by clicking one of those the user will actually
follow the link rather than dismissing the notification (which I think
would be the expected behaviour).
I'd like to merge this commit to master branch, so please let me know
what you think.
