hi developers,
my name is mirko giese, i live and work in germany, actual for lycos europe.
and damn, it looks like i am the oldest here: i'm 28.
i have an other opensource-project, i'm working on phpOpenChat
(http://www.ortelius.de/phpopenchat/)
i work with php and mysql for about 5 years, starting with php/fi and msql
then later going through php3 and now arrived at php4.
that brings me to another aspect of this project: at this stage its - as far
as i know - full compatibel to php3. that unfortunately reduces the number
of good functions a lot. maybe it would be better to give away the
php3-support (they still have the actul version working) and take all the
advantages from php4 in the next version. what do you think?
to the splitting in to trees: although this would meand more work for every
developer i think thats a good idea. if we keep the development in the same
tree as the last stable product and making the changes for our own, waiting
to the point we have a stable patch, we may loose the advantage of cvs, to
work together on problems. and as i know from other cvs-based projects: if
you wait a long time with comitting, you get such horrible cvs-conflicts
which takes a very long time to repair.
ok, thats all for me
regards from germany

Robin Johnson,
Thanks for this modification!
I think it would be better to put "MyISAM" or some other default
in the table type, because some people will use the choice "Default"
and MySQL complains.

Done. I've also updated tour profile so you do it yourself now.
Have a nice day,
Loïc

Please mark Feature 414807 (Table type in table creation/changing) as
closed as I have completed it and placed it in the CVS. Can you also
please mark Features 419841 (Maintainance Features on Properties Page) as
assigned to me, as I intend to work on it next, and it should be done in
the next few days. Feature 419830 (User Admin) is a nice long term goal,
but I won't get there for a while yet.

Hi all!
I've some details about the feature suggested by Thomas Haluza (id 420812 in
the Feature Requests tracker) and it sounds interesting.
He's build a functionnal code but some bugs remains and he doesn't have time
to work on them. Unfortunatly I don't know anything about the use of gzip
with php so I can't help him. Maybe one of you.... ;)
Regards,

I think a todo list would be a really helpful tool, so that we can be
more productive with the project.
I would propose the use of devtodo, but I'm not sure what tools the rest
of you use while working on the code. I'm using it for my phpDNS project
already, and it works nicely over CVS, making it easy for my co-developers
to arranges things to get done.
Personally I use nano from a terminal connection, buts thats just because
of my (slightly) unusual setup.

Hi all!
First, welcome to Robin Johnson.... and thanks in advance for the help ;)
Then I'm proud to announce an other new developper: the bigest contributor
to the "bugs" and "feature requests" trackers at this time ie Korakot
Chaovavanich (korakot).
As Olivier would say: "Please document every changes and updates in the
changelog and on the devel list, thanks!" ;)
Regards,
Loïc

Hello,
FYI, Just added Robin Johnson <robbat2(a)users.sourceforge.net>
to the developpers list:

Welcome to you :)
Please document every changes and updates in the changelog,
and on the devel list, thanks! And for the user-admin stuff, maybe
that working on a separate tree at the beggining (phpmyadmin-devel) would
be a good idea, what do you think?
Regards,
Olivier

Hello,
Why did the "function split_string" changed ? The display of
enum() and set() lists were broken since then. Just updated
the cvs, and released a new pre-version. Please apply your
patches if any...!
Also updated the project homepage ( http://phpmyadmin.sourceforge.net/ )
and added a demo which should work when the db will be created by the
cronjob.
changes:
2001-04-28 Olivier Müller <om(a)omnis.ch>
* applied security patch from
http://www.securereality.com.au/patches/phpMyAdmin-SecureReality.diff
(thx to Geert Lund for the info)
* now using explode() instead of split_string() in tbl_change.php3
(was broken: is split_string really working correctely? please check!
split_string is now still used in db_readdump)
Cheers,
Olivier
