Second one: it's not so bad IMO, unless you suggest to remove completely the effect. Third one: I don't know where to fix this :) I tried to play with values in themes/original/css/theme_right.css.php: .icon { vertical-align: middle; margin-right: 0.3em; margin-left: 0.3em; } but it does not seem to take effect.

Hi, after reading the arguments about this from Florian, Sebastian, Isaac and Juergen, I think it's better for the majority of our users (with the default browser font size of 16) to set our default font size to 82%. Why 82% ? I experimented and this gives a good compromise (the monospace fonts look better than in 80%, for example in the Rows stats). Comments? Marc

Hi, still about font sizes: many browsers have standardized on a default size of 16, this is why many find the text oversized in recent versions of PMA (and the majority of users don't bother changing their browser's settings because many sites adjust their fonts or font sizes accordingly). On phpmyadmin.net we specify the font size in CSS, and it's not dependent on the default browser's font size. Users can still do CTRL + or - if their browser supports it. So why not do it in PMA, with a config parameter containing 14 by default (if set to empty, PMA would not alter the font-size in CSS). Marc

Hi, I would like to educate myself about this subject :) I know that we have decided to use the default browser's font size, but I just made a test: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en" dir="ltr"> <body> <p>Rename table to</p> </body> </html> and when I display that in FF 2.0.0.5, the text looks larger than the same text as seen on the Operations panel from PMA 2.10.2. In fact, I have to choose a font size of 80% to obtain the same size as in my test. Why? Is my simple test flawed? Marc

Hi, I tested 2.11-dev under PHP 4.4.7 and there are problems. I will work on these ASAP. Contrary to a previous message by me, let's wait before message freezing 2.11. Also, I suggest that after 2.11, the next new-feature version be released after Feb 5 2008; this way we can publish a clear message with the launch of GoPHP5 today. Sebastian talked about naming this one phpMyAdmin 3. What do we do with this? This version would have a certain amount of rewrites and old BC removed so maybe it can justify version 3. From a user's perspective it would certainly be easier to understand that starting with version 3 we are PHP5-only. As a reminder, here are the dates of previous releases: 2.6.4: 2005-09-10 2.7.0: 2005-12-04 2.8.0: 2006-03-06 (new a.b.c.d versions) 2.9.0: 2006-09-20 2.10.0: 2007-02-27 Marc
