Hello, phpMyAdmin developers!
I am Zeeshan Mughal, a student at Stony Brook University studying Computer
Engineering. First off, I would like to thank you phpMyAdmin team for
accepting my proposal. I hope this summer of code will bring me closer to
free software development, and I will become more enthusiastic about it in
the coming future.
Basically, my project is not very nifty as other projects. I plan to write
a library that will enable users to store their preferences permanently.
So, if a user wants to view 100 entries per table each time he/she accesses
the system, this script will make it happen.
Well, this would not be the only user preference to be stored permanently.
There are of course other preferences that user wants to store permanently.
I would appreciate if you can share with me your ideas about what other
settings may be suited to be stored permanently.
Please check out my newly-created Joomla! powered web log at:

Thank you!

Hi all
now when there is already some content, it's time to announce planet
phpMyAdmin. You will find there posts from phpMyAdmin contributors
including Google Summer of Code students, so you might find there what
interesting ideas they have. Please note that this blog does not have
to contain only phpMyAdmin related posts, it's just for all what
contributors do (as usual on other planets).
It currently lives on <http://pmaplanet.cihar.com/>.
PS: If you think your blog is missing there, please drop me a note.

Hello all
I'd like to announce start of Planet phpMyAdmin. Currently it lives on
http://pmaplanet.cihar.com/, but I hope it will get official
phpmyamin.net domain soon (hi Olivier ;-)). All blogs of people
contributing to phpMyAdmin in any way can be included there, just drop
me a note. For now it includes GSoC students and mine blog.

Greetings fellow phpMyAdmin developers!
My name is Derek Schaefer, and I will be improving the import system for my
GSoC project. This includes import plug-ins for Open Document Spreadsheet,
CSV (the existing one is to be extended), XML, and ideally other formats as
well. At the core of all this is a powerful extension to the current import
system; an intelligent table creation interface that will be capable of
detecting column types, recommending various important settings, but most
importantly, allowing the user to view and alter the table schema before
committing. This will be especially useful for loosely-typed formats such as
CSV, ODS, and PMA's current XML schema, among others.
The blog to which I will be posting updates is located here:
http://www.moonlapse.org/
Over the next couple days I will be adding all the information regarding my
project to the above blog for your viewing pleasure, so stay tuned!
I look forward to working with all of your over the coming months.
Take care everyone,
-Derek Schaefer
Hi all
as we're going to push Google Summer of Code students to publish their
status regularly in blogs, I decided that it might be good idea to
setup Planet [1] aggregator for these blogs. When doing this, it is
obvious that developer blogs should be also included. Does anybody of
you have a blog which should be included? The posts don't have to be
phpMyAdmin related, it's mostly about knowing what all do others do,
but the posts should be in English.
