Hello, I'm using Apache 2.4.62 + PHP 8.4.1 + OpenSSL 3.1.7 on Windows 10. phpMyAdmin as a web service

Hello developers, and congratulations for the excellent work being done here ... I don't know anyone has ever had this need, but I'll try to pose the question: is it possible to call the phpmyadmin table export functionality via a php script, through the curl command, to export MySql db tables without having to use the phpmyadmin interface? I did some tests but, although php doesn't give me any errors, the exported .sql file is always empty (and no phpmyadmin errors are caught). I'm calling curl on the page, https://localhost/phpmyadmin/libraries/classes/export.php to which I pass (via curl options) authentication credentials, the name of the db and the table to export; (I have doubts about how to pass the token, if requested by script, but I would expect at least some authentication errors from phpmyadmin, and instead no errors...) I know that normally for this purpose I can use other main methods, like 1) export directly from a php script or 2) use mysqldump, but with the first method (php script) I don't get a precise and complete export like the one done by phpmyadmin (and this then causes me problems restoring the data), and for the second (mysqldump) the provider that manages the server prevents me, for security reasons, use exec() from php code; and also I can't just use a cron procedure to use mysqldump, as I would like to be able to export the db tables on demand. So I'm looking for alternative ways to export the MySql db in the optimal way as phpmyadmin does, and so I thought about using phpmyadmin as a web service, but I don't know if the idea is viable; thanks in advance to anyone with any advice; Giovanni

I'm encountering an issue with phpMyAdmin: Issue: Slow Query Timeout When using phpMyAdmin to execute a query on a large table, the query takes too long and eventually times out. I receive a "504 Gateway Timeout" error during the query execution, particularly when working with tables that contain over a million records. I've verified that MySQL is running on the server and there are no connection issues. However, this timeout error persists when running large database queries through phpMyAdmin. Is there a way to optimize phpMyAdmin or MySQL settings to handle these large queries more efficiently? Should I increase the timeout limits, or is there another configuration I should adjust? IDN domain handling

Dear phpMyAdmin Developers, I hope this message finds you well. I would like to propose a small improvement related to the display of Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) in page titles. Currently, these domains are displayed in an unreadable format, starting with "xn--" followed by a series of characters. This makes it difficult to recognize the domain at a glance. To illustrate the issue, you can refer to this page: What are IDN Domains? (https://alldomains.hosting/en/what-are-idn-domains.html) Since IDN domains are common in languages like Polish, I have created a small patch for phpMyAdmin version 5.2.1 to address this issue. The patch ensures that IDN domains are displayed in a more legible format in the page title. I have attached the patch file to this email. I hope this idea resonates with you and that displaying IDN domains in a more readable format can be included in the official release. Thank you for your time and consideration. Good morning ! I have a problem with my database. I don't know if it's general or just specific for me. In fact, i have connected my database with my local server to receive and send datas. All works ! Then, I try to connect with php my admin with OVH : I can't send datas on my database but my website can receive datas from the baseline. I don't find the solution. phpMyAdmin to Azure

Hello dear phpMyAdmin team, I want to connect my Azure database to my phpMyAdmin database. I just don't want the data to be replicated or anything similar, but rather the data should be transferred from the phpMyAdmin database to the Azure database. This means that when a user registers, it will first be saved on the phpMyAdmin database, but will then be transferred to the Azure database quite quickly. Do you already have developed solutions for this case or what is the best way to proceed in this case? I wish you all the best and would be very happy to receive a quick response. Guten Tag liebes Team von phpMyAdmin, ich möchte meine Azure Datenbank mit meiner phpMyAdmin Datenbank verbinden. Bloß möchte ich keine Replikation der Daten oder ähnliches, sondern die Daten sollen von der phpMyAdmin Datenbank auf die Azure Datenbank übertragen werden. Das bedeutet, dass wenn sich jetzt ein User registriert, er zuerst auf der phpMyAdmin Datenbank gesichert wird, aber danach ziemlich zügig auf die Azure Datenbank übertragen wird. Haben Sie bereits entwickelte Lösungen für diesen Fall oder wie sollte man in diesem Fall am besten vorgehen? Ich wünsche Ihnen und Ihrer Familie schöne Weihnachten und einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr. Hello, I'm trying to do a database project built in unity for college that connects natively to mySQL. Moreover, we will use phpmyadmin to create the physical tables. I need to make a php script to handle the data sent from unity and insert it into the mySQL database. I need to upload the php script to my server using a FTP web hosting service. The problem I'm encountering is that when I enter the server information server, port, userName, and Password it doesn't work. I've tried multiple FTP hosting services and it still doesn't work. Using IIS 10, msql 8, php 8.1, phypmyadmin 5.2 Database upload does not work as per subject. On this sever are Wordpress sites and upload works. Database size does not seem to be the issue as I tried to upload a 170KB sql file. PHP is setup to allow 100MB. ERROR on import: /No data was received to import. Either no file name was submitted, or the file size exceeded the maximum size permitted by your PHP configuration/ I spent far too long trying to resolve this. Any ideas? Connect to Access via ODBC 5.1 Driver

Hello, the problem that I have is, that I can't connect via ODBC-Driver from Access to maria-db. In the ODBC-Menu I've written in the TCP/IP, the user and password, when I click then on TEST I become the error message that the connection is failed. Wher is my problem? The port 3306 is open. Welcome to the release of phpMyAdmin version 5.2.0. This release contains many new features and quite a few bug fixes. Simultaneously, we are releasing phpMyAdmin 5.1.4, which is the last release of the 5.1 line and is intended to help downstream packaging teams. Most notably, these releases resolve a networking error when exporting a file (https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/issues/17445). phpMyAdmin 4.9.10 and 5.1.3 are released

The phpMyAdmin team announces the release of versions 4.9.10 and 5.1.3. These versions primarily address a regression that caused the navigation pane to not function correctly when multiple pages of tables were shown. Version 5.1.3 includes a security hardening improvement. The issue, reported by Rafael Pedrero, could allow users to cause an error that would reveal the path on disk where phpMyAdmin is running from. We believe this requires the server to be running with display_errors on, which is not the recommended setting for a production environment. Version 5.1.3 includes a few other minor bug fixes and is recommended for all users. Note that version 4.9 is in extended security support only. Version 5.2.0 is in final testing and is expected to replace the 5.1 branch in the coming week or weeks, with no changes to required versions of PHP or database server. About branch maintenance

Hi, It has occurred to me that our current branches have diverged significantly from QA_4_9 and that our current system of merging any change from QA_4_9 to QA_5_1 then to master doesn't seem ideal to me any longer. This makes security merges difficult. This got messy at the point where we decided to continue supporting 4.9 for urgent fixes and security fixes, because prior to 4.9, security fixes would generally be assigned a fourth version number (such as 2.11.2.2 or 4.1.14.8). That fourth version number does not conform very well with semver and we've adapted to releasing a new "patch" release for security fixes (4.9.7, for instance). Under the older system, a branch MAINT_4_1_14 would be created for the security fixes for 4.1.14.x, because a QA_ branch would get merged ahead to newer branches but the MAINT branch was not meant to be merged. Similar changes could be git cherry-picked to future branches instead. Here's what I'm proposing: * Make a break from merging QA_4_9, remove the QA_4_9 branch and replace it with MAINT_4_9 (not MAINT_4_9_8, which would be the old way). We're really getting towards the end of wanting to support 4.9 anyway, but this will allow us to maintain 4.9 without complicated merges to the 5.x branches. It's easy to see how we got in this situation because at first we were still sort of supporting 4.9 for bug fixes and slowly switched to security only, but this is a good time to commit to doing this the right way. As a reminder, since we're releasing 5.2.0-rc1, QA_5_2 is going to be created from master, and QA_5_2 will be frozen for new features; it will become bug fix only. Once 5.2.0 is officially released, QA_5_1 will be removed. I don't believe this will cause any problems with compatibility with very old PHP versions as there should be significant overlap.
