1. position of initial character of the element. (I personally prefer
this one).
2. position of last character of the element.
3. position of last character of the element + 1.
Is it used somewhere yet??, because changing its behaviour can cause
side effects.

Hi Chirayu,
this 'pos' value is used to set $section_before_limit, so please do not
change it :)
If you need the index of the first character of the element, feel free
to add something like startpos to the array (and to clarify the
description for 'pos').
