I guess it would usefull to track the bugs related to the newest changes... :)

Yes, I will release -rc2 it in a few hours if there are no objections.
Before -final, I would like to do a cleanup of /lang. Tell me what you think of that:
- all files would have in their names the charset, for example german.inc.php3 would become german-iso-8859-1.inc.php3
- in create-release.sh there would be a reminder to use sync-lang.sh to generate the -utf-8 files
- Should we show all -utf-8 files?

All right, but... ... ... could we wait until the soccer final is over? ;-)

I agree. There are also som inconsitences with UTF-8, ISO-8859-x and other charsets: Some files are name "something-utf8.inc.php3" and some are named "something-utf-8.inc.php3"
Something else: Since our libraries are named *.lib.php3, what about renaming the language files to *.lang.php3?

imho, the language drop down menu is getting too large.
I had the following idea: We only show the available laguages in the menu. After having selected his laguage, the user can choose his preferred charset. What do you think about that?
I'm watching soccer now :o)

Why, do you have last-minute changes to do for -rc2?

Well, the subdirectory name is already lang, so I don't think it's necessary to have also a lang in each filename. One day we could remove the "lib" in the filenames located in libraries. Those filenames had a lib in them when there was no /libraries.

It's a good idea, but this is not a minor change, so this would go in 2.3.1.
Meanwhile, I suggest that 2.3.0 would not have all -utf-8 files in it, just some.

probably depends on the results... Maybe the lang/brazilian_portuguese.inc.php3 will have to be sent to /dev/null ? :)

'ack.

Yes, I wanted to build a patch against bug #571409 before RC2 in order to have it tested by the Zend Accelerator people. But if you want, this can wait until RC3... We'll have an RC3, won't we?

I like these suffixes, we should keep them imho.

well, you have 15 minutes break now, still 0-0 :)

mmm, possible, but cvs is not really rename-friendly... But if you have nothing else to do this week-end... :)

I think the current solution is ok: the majority of theend- users probably don't have a clue what a charset is, so 2 <select> just for language + charset (plus the page reload because of that) would be too much IMHO.

enjoy :) Olivier

Now the game is over... 2-0... for Brazil... :'-(

In most cases the end user does not have to change the laguage and charset settings because of phpMyAdmin's detection. And even if he does, he'd be more confused with the current solution. Furthermore the page reload would not be necessary with a JS capable browser.
