Hi all, My name is Guillermo, I've been subscribed to the digest for a while but this is my first submission. I love phpmyadmin so if there's anything I can do to make it better, I do it gladly. Happy new year to all!! ^^,

I don't find darkblue_orange particularly attractive.
Completely agree!
I like the proposed themes, in this order : Arctic Ocean, pmamhomme, Paradice. Also agree, although there could be a change and maybe switch pmamhomme as first option, I don't think it's as hard on color scheme and should be first for a change, with an Artic Ocean as close second.
(I tested with Firefox 3.6.13 and Google Chrome 8, both on Ubuntu 10.10)
What about IE? :/ I hate its guts but some people should be using it, right? It's not their fault their browser breaks compatibility, should look nice for them too.
I'm gonna be straight up with you, I don't enjoy the themes, maybe it's time for a new default theme, I'm talking about Web 2.0 stuff, a little more eyecandy, which I know it's not what PHPmyadmin is about, but a change might be good for it.
Maybe we can do a poll to get user input?
Totally, but how? onsite?

Thanks Guillermo. I sent my thoughts about themes but I don't have the time (or skills) to develop a new one -- too busy with stabilizing the code for the 3.4 release.

Just as a reminder, we are talking about default themes for the upcoming 3.4 release.
Either we organize an online poll or we just send the question to the phpmyadmin-users list which has 414 subscribers that presumably are interested in these matters.
Parallel to the poll, we could define criteria for a default theme, then see which themes in [0] are popular while respecting these criteria. The download stats available from SourceForge.net (they are not complete) are saying:
paradice: 48849 since 2008-05 (started in 2006)
arctic_ocean: 32364 since 2008-03 (started in 2006)
clearview3: 22274 since 2009-01 (started in 2009)
pmahomme: 4411 since 2010-10, started in 2010 (has some problems, see my other posts)
