This message looks weird to me:
$strShowStatusThreads_cachedDescr = 'The number of threads in the thread
cache. The cache hit rate can be calculated as
threads_created/Connections. If this value is red you should raise your
thread_cache_size.';
Seems to me that the second part is an explanation for
Threads_cache_hitrate_%

Hi,
can someone reproduce this? HEAD no longer works correctly with MySQL
4.0.x, with mysqli extension. Many symptoms occur, for example:
structure only shows the first 7 fields of a table; insert no longer
works, etc.
Looks like the output of SHOW FIELDS, when fetched in a loop by
PMA_DBI_fetch_assoc(), stops after reading the 7th row.
Same server works well with QA_2_6_4 + mysqli extension. Works well with
HEAD + mysql extension.
I know that mysqli is targeted to MySQL 4.1.x+, but...

Hi,
i would prefer if ALL messages related to development, whether they are
addressed to specific developers or not, would come through this list
at least for me:
- no messages can get lost in spam filter
- i notice problems not affecting my code but i can have also an eye
on this (f.e.) the new import system - i didn't noticed any of the
problems Marc reported to Michal (he mentioned in a mail before)
- i have all pma-dev related mails in one folder
- and for the archive stuff ...

Hi all
I just switched all SQL splitting to new import system. I'd like to
especially thank to Marc for testing it and giving me nice feedback.
I tried to test all possible code paths, but there still might me minor
problems, so please test it and send me feedback (bug tracking is
preferred as you probably won't be the only one facing problems).

Hi,
how about add an 'Registration' in main.php which leads to local
registration form
this form could collect, of course after explaining and asking for
permission:
- number of servers/databases/tables handled with this installation
- currently installed versions of PHP, PMA, MySQL
- used extension mysql, mysqli
- changed configuration (different from default)
- used theme
- registration information (email, name, company, ... )
- hash of installation path (as unique id for installation)
- hash of server connection string (as unique id for servers)
- a free textfield for additional comments
this can be stored local, or at least a hash over all, to recognize
changes and update registration
and of course in the phpMyAdmin project database
so we can
- make most used settings to default
- send security alerts on specific versions
- statistics on used versions
- and much more ...

Hi all
I finally managed to make new import in some state, I'm ready to publish
it a bit. It's available in patch tracker [1].
As you can read in patch tracker, basic goals of this rewrite are:
- plugin based import system
- LOAD DATA independent CSV loading
- time/memory limit workarounds
- default configuration of import stored in config
Current state is not yet complete. Plugin architecture is there, it
should correctly deal with php time/memory limits. However design is
probably not final and there are still some things need to be fixed
(charset support, finalizing CSV plugin, etc.).
If you have time, you're welcome to provide this some testing. Thanks!

Hi,
PMA_showMessage() in common.lib.php uses md5() for generating the
table-id, why md5() why not cleartext?
and second: why only the table-name? the table is not unique if you have
more than one db ...
i would change this, if no one complaints.
