[Phpmyadmin-devel] problem in PMA_ConfigTest

In the setUp() of the test class *PMA_ConfigTest *( ./test/classes/PMA_ConfigTest.php ) two objects are created one for testing purpose ($object variable of class) and other as a global variable the test object is initialized with no parameter, while the global one is initialized with "*config.inc.php*" as a parameter, Although it should be initialized with *"config.sample.inc.php" *as this file exist in codebase while former does not. I have pulled a request for the same at https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/pull/994 But there is a problem I'm facing here, for the global version the assertion for permissions is failing, while it should not .... I can't understand this. Can anyone help? Minhaz cistoner.org

Hey, I am working on the fix for this bug https://sourceforge.net/p/phpmyadmin/bugs/4228/ and I came up with a adhoc fix for this till the bug is fixed from the chrome end. Anyways I need to put a .css class declaration somewhere common to all themes. Could someone tell me where such a css file would be. Regards, Aditya

Hi, I was looking at the bug http://sourceforge.net/p/phpmyadmin/bugs/4301/ . I think, If the query execution is not redirecting page, ie it's happening on the same page via an ajax request then there are two ways we can approach it. 1. Append an another Query box below previous Query box for all the following requests. So in this case, we'll have separate query boxes for each operation performed on the page. 2. Append the query itself with separator semicolon in the same existing query box. In this case we'll have same just one Query box having all the Queries appended with separator semicolon. Please let me know if any concern, and what approach we can take to solve the same ? Fixing the bug will also make sure that user will have list of all the queries performed on relation in order that resulted into the results displayed on the page. Thanks and Regards - Smita Kumari

Actually it was something else derped in my PMA which was causing this bug. Now the content in the navigation panel while creating the procedure from is same as the main content. But the thing is that after the procedure is created, the new database is not selected but the old one. So, I want to ask should I make it to select the database in which the procedure was created ? Or the current behaviour is OK ?

[Phpmyadmin-devel] Invalid HTML code for query result (#result_query)

While examining the *bug 4301*, I found a fundamental problem with the query result messages (those with id result_query). The problem is that in some cases there are multiple result query messages that have to be displayed. For eg: when a row is edited (using the *Edit *link of a particular row on the browse table page) two result queries are displayed. The first is an *UPDATE* query and the other is a *SELECT* query. The corresponding HTML for this contains two *div*s with the same id (i.e. *result_query*). This is invalid html as an *id* is supposed to be unique to an element and must only identify a single element. Regarding the bug 4301, there is a pull request from *krtin *available here https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/pull/1006. But according to the standards this is not the proper way to fix this bug. I would like to re-factor the code corresponding to the multiple-element-with-same-id problem and then fix this bug accordingly. This pull request does solve the problem but, in the long run it may be problematic due to its inconsistency with the overall UI/UX of phpMyAdmin (it uses animation to display the UPDATE query for a few seconds followed by the SELECT query). Hello everyone, My name is Abhishek Kandoi and I am a 2nd Year Undergraduate pursuing Bachelors of Technology in Computer Science at IIT Roorkee, India. I have been following the development of phpMyAdmin and have contribute some bug fixes. This made me familiar with the code-base of phpMyAdmin. As a part GSoC 2014, I would love to continue contributing to PMA. Apart from this I have worked on a number of projects related to Web Development (using PHP as well as Python). This includes both individual projects as well as collaborative projects (using Git and GitHub). Apart from bug fixes what else can I do to strengthen my application for GSoC? [Phpmyadmin-devel] Travis fails for the bug patch I have written

Hey, I wrote a patch for this bug 4306<https://sourceforge.net/p/phpmyadmin/bugs/4306/>. The breadcrumb bar was pointing to the newly created table even when we are back from the table creation page and are exploring the structure of the DB. This was the patch I wrote. https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/pull/1005 But the travis failed on this one with the error, "Starting test 'Advisor_Test::testAddRule with data set #5 (array('foo | fsafdsa', 'Failure', 'issue', 'Recommend'), array(), 'Failed formatting string for rule \'Failure\'. PHP threw following error: Use of undefined constant fsafdsa - assumed \'fsafdsa\'')'. No output has been received in the last 10 minutes, this potentially indicates a stalled build or something wrong with the build itself." I just checked the tests for tbl_create.php and I didn't see anything that would cause this to fail ! The error seems a bit vague and doesn't point out any particular test that failed so if someone could point out what failed, that would be great. Regards, Aditya

Hi, if in bug #4295( https://sourceforge.net/p/phpmyadmin/bugs/4295/) we increase the time in usleep i think up to 60 secs then it will be fine or if we write a function that checks the size of import and if size is large then accordingly change the time.
