[Phpmyadmin-devel] Issue with closing tags at the end of the file

Hi everyone, In all files of phpMyAdmin source code, closing tag (?>) is included at the end of file. Most frameworks like zend or symfony or laravel suggest to omit closing tag to prevent accidental output of whites paces. In some situations output may send headers which makes the application incapable to control response headers. Hi , I am Lalith , 3rd year computer science undergraduate student . I am good at Php and Mysql . So I would like to contribute to phpmyadmin community . Also I would like to participate in Google Summer of code for your organization . I went to the rules of *Phpmyadmin GSOC 2015* and it is mandatory to fix atleast one bug (or) implement a new feature . I am ready to work on . Also I have a couple of ideas . If some one would guide me (or) assign me a bug or task for implementing a new feature so that I can work on and contribute to community . I am good at Web Development including HTML, CSS and little bit of Javascript (still in progress). Also, I know Django little bit. Hi I would like to extend the functionalities of the present Console in phpMyAdmin as a part of GSoC project. I was testing current one and found the following issues: UI improvements: > The option tab and console pointer are too far away from each other leading to great mouse traversing time. It should be close enough and not at the other end given a lot of space is available to use. > Keyboard use: Escape to close is another thing missing(Minute fix) > On clicking "Options" a huge div for settings open. Given options are currently low in number and there is not a lot of text to show, it should be reduced.Again it increases mouse traversing time. Currently the console is used for SQL queries. I would like to propose following additions to it. > Introduction of version control. (git like feature) This is a much needed change. How many times it has happened one single query and your data is lost forever? This is help keep track of previously saved version of database as a backup so that user can restore and start working on it if and when required. >Introduction of opening tabs and filling fields using console Again another feature that gives console power to do things. >Introduction of "help" command It will help users how to use console for example one can execute "help" for complete help or "help select" to know the details >Run, preview and then only apply changes to database Another safety feature that can be included in console making console more powerful. The possibilities are endless. Lets discuss this over and create a working model. [Phpmyadmin-devel] Framing a proposal for GSoC 2015

Hi, I am Tapan Halani, a B.Tech student from India. I am participating in GSoC 2015 and I have already started contributing to phpmyadmin. My areas of interest are Multi-party database synchronization and User-Interface Improvements. I have already solved 2 bugs and am planning to solve more, as they intrigue me and have increased my code-base knowledge. I would like to start drafting my project proposal, but am unclear with the components that I should involve( e.g. what ui components should I contribute to ). I would appreciate if somebody guide me with how should I kickstart with my proposal. Also, is it the right time to do so , or should I focus on solving more and more bugs and features? Thank you
