[Phpmyadmin-devel] Regarding GSoC 2015

Hi all, I am looking to participate in GSoC 2015 with the PMA project. I have been looking around for bugs and feature requests and have fixed and implemented a few of them. Having being a phpMyAdmin user for last few years now, I have always enjoyed using its varied features and now having implemented some small features myself, have enjoyed implementing new features for the users as well. I went through the GSoC 2015 ideas list and the User interface improvements <https://wiki.phpmyadmin.net/pma/GSoC_2015_Ideas_List#User_interface_improve…> idea and the Feature Request project enhancement <https://wiki.phpmyadmin.net/pma/GSoC_2015_Ideas_List#Feature_request_projec…> idea seemed interesting to me. I have been looking into the listed requests' histories and have been looking into the code-base for similar features. I will be thinking of an approach for how each, I think, should be implemented and would be including a part of that in my proposal. [Phpmyadmin-devel] 4.4 feature freeze

Hi developers, as discussed at the last FOSDEM meeting, 4.4 is now feature frozen. Branch QA_4_4 has been created and will receive only bug fixes and translations. The master branch now contains 4.5.0. Normal bug fixes are still going to QA_4_3, with a merge to QA_4_4 and master. If the fix is not urgent, it can go directly to QA_4_4. [Phpmyadmin-devel] how to create control user to do manual config settings?

Can I add any existing username and password with the required privileges as control user? If so, do I have to do anything other than updating the following fields in config.inc.php file? $cfg['Servers'][$i]['controluser'] = 'existing username mentioned above'; $cfg['Servers'][$i]['controlpass'] = 'existing password of the above username'; I am getting message like "Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed" in my phpmyadmin page. even after I did above things. Also , do I have to set the control user separately for each database I would like to configure for additional features?
