Hi List!
It would be nice if anyone of you who use PMA on a platform that uses
socket has a look at the bug #473314 (phpmyadmin ignores socket
definition) just to ensure this is a true bug and not a configuration
problem.
Thanks,
Loïc

Hi Marc & all!

Thanks but....

I'm afraid there is a little problem: you're talking about a version I sent
you at your personnal mail box and that requires far too much changes
to be applied to a release candidate.
Since the version I sent to the list do not change anything to main.php3
I think there is no problem here ;)

Hi List!
I suggest to use the attached version of "common.lib.php3" for the plain
2.2.1 release. It does not contains many changes (it's just a kind of
"temporary" improvement") but it allows:
- to fix bug #472201(denied to mysql user db. AdvAuth failed.) that
is a true problem indeed: requiring each user to have "select" privilege
on the "mysql" db is not a so good idea;
- to really skip all the "get dbs list from the mysql db" if
$cfgServers[i]['only_db'] is set.
Could you try it and tell me what your opinions about it are?
Thanks,
Loïc
Hi list,
Please have a look at this release. Personnally I find it stable (apart from what is left in the
bug tracker), except that as a super-user I can't display the grants of any user. Can someone
reproduce the problem?
Marc
Hi Michael & list!
OK don't flame Michael please. Since he wants the new design to be
kept "secret" at this time and we don't want to risk the current cvs tree
to become messy at rc stage, he suggested me to mount its own
temporary cvs tree till we're ready for merging the code he builds.
About branching, it could be a nice idea... as soon as all the developers
knows a bit about this feature, else we would need one of us to spend
all his free time to fix cvs inconcistencies. Any candidate? ;)
I posted a message about this a few weeks ago: among developers who
knows a bit about branching in cvs and who already used this feature?
Michael I think anyway the question Marc asked is important at this stage:
how intrusive is your code?
Kind regards,
Loïc

Hi Marc & List!

Well there is no difference between these two versions with my config
(but in my "mysql.db" table all the "Db" fields contains wildcards and
most of the "Host" fields are empty -to refer to the "mysql.host" table-).

Hi All!
I've just updated the table properties page with a link to flush tables.
At this time this link is displayed among the "browse...drop" ones
at the top of the page but I wonder if it's a right place for it: maybe
it's better to put it near the "drop table" link at the bottom of the
page since it won't be used very often and it requires the "reload"
privilege to be run.
Any thought?
What do you think of the 2.2.1-rc1 release? Is it stable enough to
become a plain 2.2.1 now or should we build a rc2 before?
Kind regards,
Loïc

Hi Marc!
>everything looks ok under:
>WinNT: NN 4, IE 5.5, IE 6
>Linux: Konqueror 2.1.1, 2.2.1
Great! It works also with IE 5.01, Moz. 0.9.4, NS 4.75, Opera 5.0,
last Lynx version and K-meleon 0.5 for win32.

Hi All!
According to the xhtml1.0 specifications, the valid splitter for
variables in urls is "& amp;" and not "&".
Since most browsers support this and some recent ones no
long support the old "&" splitter I've updated about all the
scripts in the CVS tree.
It would be nice to widelly test these changes with as many
browser as possible to ensure PMA still works and if not,
which browsers needs a workaroud if possible.
Thanks,
Loïc
