Hi,
I would appreciate your feedback on those suggestions. I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings with this.
1. We erase the "stable" branch and rename phpMyAdmin-devel to phpMyAdmin. It will be easier to work on a single branch. For me, cvs means development. Developers are encouraged to try really big changes on their machines first, discuss them on the -devel mailing list, them commit them to cvs.
2. We release the cvs phpMyAdmin (which was -devel) as v2.2.0 in the next few days.
3. This version will not be perfect, the docs won't be complete, but it works quite well. Releasing it will generate more interest, more testing in the field.
4. Maybe v2.2.1 will have better docs, if developper time permits. I would like to work on an integrated Documentation.html. And better translations...
5. We remove the "unofficial" mention. For me, Tobias comment: "I like your version and would like it to be the official version." is enough to mark it "official".
6. Accept the fact that for now, we can't have a presence on phpwizard.

That is right. I first thought it would be easier to work on 2 different branches, but it seems I was wrong.

Ok. But shouldn't we wait until we get the access to phpwizard.net ? I sent about 5 mails to Tobias, and one more to office@maguma.com (his company), and I got this answer yesterday:
Sehr geehrter Herr Müller! Herr Ratschiller ist in dieser Woche leider nicht erreichbar. Ich würde Sie im Laufe der nächsten Woche kontaktrieren und könnte dabei Kontakttermine vorschlagen.
(he's not there this week). We could maybe wait to monday or tuesday.

Yes, the docs should be redesigned: one part for the end users, one part for the sysadmin (setup, config.php), and maybe one part with some mysql basics : what is a table, etc: because the whole mysql docs as "introduction", that's maybe too much :)

Maybe we could forget phpwizards completely, and put everything on SF ? And as soon as we get ftp access, put a redirection page there. Geert, any comment ?

just checked my cvs docs: I don't see how it's possible to rename a branch. But we can still delete "stable", and continue to work on "phpMyAdmin-devel"..
