Hi,
I am a student at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and I have 2 years experience working with PHP and MySQL. During this time I have made use of phpMyAdmin during all my projects involving MySQL and database management, therefore I would like to give something back to phpMyAdmin in the form of a GSoC Project.
The project idea that interested me the most was 'cleaning up the interface' idea. I went through the feature requests that have been posted with regard to this idea, and I think I could manage to provide these requirements. It would also be interesting if I could collaborate with whoever is taking the 'AJAX for the interface' project and complete both projects as a combined effort.
e.g. A feature that could be provided on the interface via AJAX could be, when the mouseover event is triggered on a specific database's name, a drop down Javascript list could be generated which would allow the user to select a specific table for viewing.
Hope to hear your feedback on this.
Thank You!

Mentors need to evaluate individual efforts. Collaboration can be tricky to evaluate. It would be better if your proposal covers a specific part of the interface, including the AJAX additions.
Be careful, your proposal must make sense for a 12-week individual effort, so "Cleaning up the Database Operations page" is too small, while "Cleaning up the whole interface" is too large in scope. Anyway, "cleaning up" would need more details in the proposal.
We are going in the jQuery direction so AJAX should be done using jQuery.

Yes, but notice that there can be thousands of tables in a db.
Hope to hear your feedback on this.
Thank You!
