Hi,
I received this "public domain" favicon for PMA. The colors seem ok to me, any objection to merge this?

Shouldn't this icon be part of theme?

Honestly? I don't like it at all. :o) 'pM'? What is 'pM'? It's even not the same font as in our logo... There's nothing in this icon that reminds me of phpMyAdmin. Sorry.

Ok :)
Here is another one, from Michael Keck. He suggests also that it should not be theme specific.

This one looks much better!

I'm not convinced about this, but also not about including it in theme, I simply don't know.

It's true that when switching theme between original and darkblue_orange, the main logo changes color , but I don't find it necessary to also switch the icon. I think the favicon is a quick way to recognize the app on the browser's tabs, not necessarily which theme PMA is using.

Hi all,
the favicon is stored in the main-dir of the phpMyAdmin or better in the root of the server, on wich is running phpMyAdmin. It's not supported to switch the favicon with switching to another theme. Favicons are used for the browser tabs and/or bookmarks. Nearly each browser wich supports favicons looks into the doc-root, if there one it will be downloaded. So I don't know this icon must be in the themes directory ...
Regards Michael

Any current browser does support <link rel="icon" href="path_to_icon" type="image/something"> in html head.
MSIE has (as usual) problems with png, but ico works in all cases here.
