[Phpmyadmin-devel] Webpage: CVS and Wiki

Hi, was there ever any discussion about using a wiki for phpMyAdmin homepage? I think this will make it more easy to contribute documentation, faq, hints and help, especially in foreign languages. On the other hand we are somehow limited in design, but i think (up to date) information is more important than design! At least the documentation. Hi, I suggest rc1 for Feb 19. Meanwhile I plan to work on https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1396998&group_id=… to add the LIMIT and warning about MaxExactCount at more places in the code. Marc

Hi devs, I plan to add to the doc some instructions about how to deal with the config directory for users of a Windows server. They might not like being told to do "chmod" :) Also, after reading the forum, I wonder about our decision to remove config.inc.php from main directory. Some newbies take one of those actions: - edit directly config.default.php - complain about the product not working on a default installation Maybe we should put a minimal config.inc.php there. Here I'm talking about taking care of users who download directly our kits; I wonder what integrators like various distros and XAMPP will do about this. Marc

Hi, I started to mark fixed bugs with: (ok 2.8.0-beta2) instead of (in 2.8.0-beta2) because sometimes, reporters think that the "in" means the bug happens _in_ a particular version. Would be better to use (fixed 2.8.0-beta2) but this takes 3 more characters that we often need in the bug description. Marc

Hi all I think we should drop links to phpMyAdmin 2.2.7-pl1 (latest version tested with PHP < 4.1.0 and MySQL < 3.23.32). The problem is that we do not provide security update for those, so I do not thing it should be advertised so much. And anyway, who now uses so old versions? I think it could stay (a bit hidden) on bottom on download page, but nowhere else. -- Michal Čihař | http://cihar.com
