Hi Dieter ,
I submitted my project proposal to participate in this GSOC.The project is
Refactoring: Designer/schema integration which is mentoring by Michal
Cihar. I would appreciate if you can provide me a feedback and
comments on my proposal so that I can improve my proposal further.
Thank you
Hi,
I sent proposal for the Ajax error reporting idea can someone take a look
and give me some feedback. Please let me know if I'm missing something I
would be happy to provide more info.
Also I did fork yesterday and I'm trying to make a bug fix but I have
trouble with finding a bug to start with. I see on the tickets that someone
is already assigned to most of the bugs or there are comments that it is
fixed. Anyone has some hints how to start with something simple?
Thanks,
Bojan Petkovski
I have prepared a fix for this issue. Shall I merge it with MAINT_4_0_0 (in order for an rc4), or is QA_4_0 (for 4.0.1) sufficient?
TBH I consider this bug to be blocking.
J.M.

When exporting a table, the generated SQL file is empty. Only the phpMyAdmin comment headers and database collaction SET commands are written.
When exporting a table without writing a file, the following error is displayed:
No tables found in database.
Reproduced on demo.phpmyadmin.net running running Git revision RELEASE_4_0_0RC3-59-g658c79e from QA_4_0 branch.

Hi,
I am interested in the proposed GSoC project 'Interface Improvements'. The
feature requests listed in the project idea cover most parts of phpMyAdmin
and I hope the project would help me gain a full understanding of the code.
I'd like to know whether the feature requests listed in the project idea is
enough to cover the whole summer or should I dig into the bug and/or
feature request trackers to add some more to my proposal? I have less
experience with the code which makes it somewhat difficult for me to judge
the time each one of them would take. So I depend on experienced mentors
for that.
Thanks.

Hi potential GSoC student,
A few hours ago, the application period for GSoC project proposal was opened.
If you wish to apply, go to the GSoC 2013 website [0] and register.
For more information on applying and submitting a proposal for
phpMyAdmin, check our wiki [1].
The application deadline is May 3rd, but we advise you to submit early.
Don't forget to submit a patch as part of your application. The
deadline for the patch is May 10th.
Good luck!

Hi,
I would like to start this branch soon (tomorrow). This would mean that
we are very ready for 4.0.0, barring a serious problem that comes up
from 4.0.0-rc3.
This way, we could switch QA_4_0 to 4.0.1-dev and start merging to it
fixes for bugs that are not show-stoppers for a 4.0.0.

phpMyAdmin 3.5.8.1 has been released to fix a number of security
problems. Also, the third release candidate for phpMyAdmin 4.0.0 has
been released, containing normal bug fixes for 4.0, along with security
fixes.
For more details, see the upcoming PMASA-2013-2, PMASA-2013-3,
PMASA-2013-4 and PMASA-2013-5.
With version 4.0, the HTML frames are gone and the navigation panel now
presents a tree. This version requires Javascript.
Version 4.0 contains many bug fixes and smaller new features; moreover,
the documentation has a new look and contains an index.
Details will appear on http://phpmyadmin.net. In a hurry? you can visit
https://sourceforge.net/projects/phpmyadmin/files to download.
Marc Delisle, for the team
I would like to have a query that what this variable purpose is. As from my
understanding(if i'm not wrong) it is used to redirect the browser where to
go after doing certain query/operation isn't it.
That means whatever the php file names are there in that, to them we can
redirect right??
