Hey Guys,
I was going through some bug report and saw this one #3865
https://sourceforge.net/p/phpmyadmin/bugs/3865/
which i thought can be fixed by me. So i added few lines of code in my
phpmyadmin(running on localhost) and that fix seems to be working just
fine. Now i wanted to add that patch in the original phpmyadmin(the one in
github) but i don't know the procedure.
As i am pretty new to github and patching bugs(it's the first fix ), so i
don't know the procedure of uploading the patch.
In my earlier attempts i tried cloning phpmyadmin frfound can be fixedom
github using
git clone git@github.com:phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin.git
but then a message comes that server has refused my connection.
So, then i cloned using
https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin.git
but it seems like it gives me Read only Access.
So i would like to know how could i upload that patch. Do i have to take
some kind of permission?
Hi all,
I'm trying to fix bug #3865[1] and I have some queries regarding the
expected behavior that I'd like to get clarified.
MySQL LIKE clause takes a regular expression as its argument[2]. In the
table search interface phpMyAdmin facilitate querying a field with a LIKE
clause by letting the user select the option from a drop down.
So I'd like to know whether phpMyAdmin should consider the text entered by
the user to be a regular expression (and pass it as it is) or consider it
to be the text to match (and do the necessary escaping)?
If we are to escape the user entered text following are some of the
replacements that should be done
% => \%
_ => \_
\ => \\ (at the end of the text) or \\\\ (any where else in the text)
\n => \\n
If we escape the user entered text, user cannot query with MySQL wildcards
% and _, limiting the full power of MySQL pattern matching.
I would be grateful if you could clarify the expected behavior.
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I'd like to introduce myself to the dev community. I am Kasun Chathuranga,
an undergraduate from Sri Lanka and I am interested in taking part in the
2013 edition of GSoC under phpMyAdmin.
I have already gone through the related wiki pages and read mails on this
list that carry information about the same. As per the requirement I have
started working on a bug and I hope to submit some patches very soon.
I will write again in case I need any help with my bug fixing. I guess that
is it for now :)
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm almost ready for 3.5.8-rc1 but am still waiting for more answers
about the Internet Explorer 10 blank screen issue.
3.5.8 would probably be the last of its family :)

Welcome to the first release candidate for phpMyAdmin 4.0.0. With this
version, the HTML frames are gone and the navigation panel now presents
a tree. This version requires Javascript.
Version 4.0 contains many bug fixes and smaller new features; moreover,
the documentation has a new look and contains an index.
Details will appear on http://phpmyadmin.net. In a hurry? you can visit
https://sourceforge.net/projects/phpmyadmin/files to download.

Hi all,
I'm currently looking into the bug #3800 (
http://sourceforge.net/p/phpmyadmin/bugs/3800/). The bug is reported to be
in 3.5.6 version and while going through the wiki page on GIT (
http://wiki.phpmyadmin.net/pma/Git#Working_with_branches) I noticed that
the fix should go into some QA branch. However seeing that version 4.0 is
in beta, I'd like to know whether the fix should still go to the QA branch.
Will there be any more releases on 3.5 branch?
Thanks
