Hello everyone,
Isaac and I were having a discussion regarding the issue
https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/issues/13654 . Currently a partial
implementation https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/pull/14046 was
merged and the following problems came into light:
1. "No auto-saved query" warning was displayed every time if there was no
previously saved query.
2. If there was a previously saved query it stayed there indefinitely
unless changed.
I proposed a fix https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/pull/14094 but
the problem is if the user logout on the sql page then the query would be
saved for the next time. Although it could be fixed, Isaac suggested the
idea of introducing a Restore button to restore the queries instead of
showing the saved query every time. I think it's a better solution and it
would make things easier to implement similar feature on insert page. Any
suggestions??

Hello,
I've released 4.8.0-rc1, which means several things.
* There are still many pull requests pending. We have decided to keep to
the release schedule for 4.8.0 rather than waiting for more testing and
merging of these pull requests. If you've contributed and your pull
request hasn't yet been merged, perhaps it can be part of 4.8.1 which I
anticipate in April.
* We are now in a feature freeze for 4.8.0; I've branched QA_4_8 to
accommodate this.
* I anticipate releasing 4.9.0 towards the end of the summer so that the
work of our GSoC students can be put to use quickly. I feel that we
waited too long for 4.8.0 (for which I blame myself).
* I also anticipate releasing 4.8.1 toward the end of April, in about a
month's time.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me and/or the list know.
Isaac

Much of this work is thanks to the hard work of our Google Summer of
Code 2017 students. We're participating again, see
<https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/wiki/GSoC_home>.
Additionally, there have been continuous improvements to many of the
translations. If you don't see your language or find a problem, you can
contribute too; see <https://www.phpmyadmin.net/translate/> for details.
As always, downloads are available at https://www.phpmyadmin.net

Hi,
I have shared my proposal for GSoC 2018 through the portal. My approach to
the Introduce modern JS features is little bit different so It would be
great if someone can give suggestions on it.
