Hi, can someone explain the purpose of this? In a db with 22 tables, if I set this parameter to 6, I get 6 groups of table names. Why is this named PropertiesNumColumns? Marc

Hi, after this change: http://phpmyadmin.cvs.sourceforge.net/phpmyadmin/phpMyAdmin/main.php?r1=2.8… we no longer present the "Show PHP information" to superusers if $cfg['ShowPhpInfo'] is false. But, our doc says: $cfg['ShowPhpInfo'] boolean $cfg['ShowChgPassword'] boolean $cfg['ShowCreateDb'] boolean Defines whether to display the "PHP information" and "Change password " links and form for creating database or not for simple users at the starting main (right) frame. This setting does not check MySQL commands entered directly. As I read this doc, it seems to apply to "simple users". So I would like to revert to previous behavior. IMO, a superuser should always see this link. The intention of the ShowPhpInfo parameter was to block this information for simple users -- well, at least, to block displaying the link. Marc

Hi, I just noticed that at revision 2.190, http://phpmyadmin.cvs.sourceforge.net/phpmyadmin/phpMyAdmin/Documentation.h… the naming of almost all configuration parameters changed and quotes were lost, for example from $cfg['blowfish_secret'] to $cfg[blowfish_secret] I guess this was not intentional? Hi, don't you feel that something is not consistent between http://pear.php.net/manual/en/standards.including.php and http://pear.php.net/manual/en/standards.control.php "require_once" and "if" are both statements, so why does the PEAR standard say that you need parenthesis for "if" and not for "require_once"? Hi, I would like to reopen the discussion about this issue. I know you're tired of it, but there are lots of problems for users. I noticed at least one distro that just copy our libraries/config.default.php into ../config.inc.php! Unfortunately, many users do not read the doc about installation, and even for some who did read it, there are still problems: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1471501&group_id=… Having to close all browser windows is another thing that is not evident for many. For some reasons, the setup script is not as popular as we hoped (probably due to the directory manipulations related to its use). My opinion is that we have to think about was it "normal" and expected for the configuration of OSS products. Is it too late to revert to our old way of keeping BC by compensating with code for missing options? If it's too late, what about having a config-dist.inc.php that would contain the minimum lines (one server section connecting to localhost with root and no password). People could copy it into config.inc.php and be more happy. Marc
