[Phpmyadmin-devel] function similar to PMA_DBI_connect for remote server connection?

Hello, is there a function similar to PMA_DBI_connect, which can connect to a remote MySQL server? I need to connect from slave server to master server and get current master binary log name and position for correct slave start. Thank you, Tomas

[Phpmyadmin-devel] Question About Zahra Naeem's syncronization GUI

Hi folks, I recently read the post http://trackingchangesphp.blogspot.com/2009/07/fine-tunings-in-gui-2.html about recent updates to the synchronization and have some feedback if it's okay. If I correctly understand the posting, the "Apply difference" button will only synchronize the selected options whereas "Synchronize Databases" instead will synchronize everything regardless of which checkboxes are selected. So hitting "Select All" then "Apply difference" would have the same effect as "Synchronize Databases", right? If this is the case, I don't really see the point to having two buttons; I imagine this will only confuse the user. IMHO having the "Select All" link is sufficient and then extra "Synchronize Databases" button is redundant. I'm just suggesting...I realize it's a work-in-progress but just thought I'd share my thoughts. Regards, ~isaac

Hi all you probably noticed that Firefox 3.5 is out and it comes with new way how to protect against XSS called Content Security Policy. Do you think it is worth implementing in phpMyAdmin? It would probably mean changing of some parts of our code because it blocks following things: * The contents of internal <script> nodes * javascript: URIs, e.g. <a href="javascript:bad_stuff()"> * Event-handling attributes, e.g. <a onclick="bad_stuff()"> * eval() * setTimeout called with a String argument, e.g. setTimeout("evil string...", 1000) * setInterval called with a String argument, e.g. setInterval("evil string...", 1000) * new Function constructor, e.g. var f = new Function("evil string...") [Phpmyadmin-devel] Suggestions--What to do with previous data in target database when it is about to synchronize with a source database?

Hi, Could any one suggest, whether : Should I ask the user "Do you want to delete the uncommon tables or uncommon rows from the target database/table? " by prompting a message box or dialog box OR Should I make my own assumption that there is no need to delete any previous data in the target database. Regards, Zahra
