Hello everyone,
My name is Thiago Franco, I am a Computer Engineering undergraduate student
at the Rio de Janeiro State University, Brazil. I have been engaged with
web development for the last few years and in doing so I inevitably came
across phpMyAdmin. Wishing to strengthen my knowledge on how the open
source software development is given, as well as to practice my skills
(especially PHP and JavaScript), I decided to get involved in the
community. That said, I would like to know what should I do to start
contributing.
Any feedback will be highly appreciated, thank you!
hey there,
In the GSoC 17 ideas list it was written "For both enhancement collection projects, students are welcome to modify this list in order to swap out for other enhancements that are interesting; this list is simply a suggestion." in both the Enhancement Collection A and B.
Can anyone explain how and what enhancement should we swap in or out?
And
Can we add our own feature in this enhancement section or we will have to write the proposal including it as our own idea?
Thanks
Vivek Modi

Hi,
Can someone provide steps for setting up selenium testing. It will be very
helpful for anyone applying for 'Selenium Testsuite' project and needless
to mention, anyone who wants to tweak with selenium testing.

Hello Ravindu Perera,
The Google Summer of Code landing page at
https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/wiki/GSoC_home has most of the
information you'll need, in particular the applicant guide will be
particularly useful for you at this time.
As far as any bug fix, the tracker is located at
https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/issues and most of the simple
issues are tagged "newbie" (although there are some that haven't yet been
tagged, so feel free to look through and pick from any unassigned issue).
If you have further questions, please feel free to ask here.
Isaac

Hello guys, I am Bala from India pursuing SY IT at VJTI in Mumbai.
I am very enthusiastic about participating in GSOC-2017 for phpMyAdmin
which has really helped me in my development from a small time developer to
a full stack developer along the years and its time to give back.
So hello guys, I am pleased to be here.
Thankyou.

Hello everyone I was wondering if someone can help me explain the use of
all the branches on https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadin there are 7 of
them if I am not mistaken including master, STABLE and the rest. How do I
leverage all these branches in order to improve my contribution to PMA. So
far I have been working only with the master branch. I read the
documentation on docs.phpmyadmin.net even so the developer information
there is limited. Maybe I will be able to update that in future. Cheers PMA
team!
Fon Noel.
hey there,
Can anyone point me out where is the source code of the front end as well as the backend of the login page of phpmyadmin in the git master branch ?
And is the front end code for the login page present in a single file or is distributed and linked over many files?
Thanks in advance.
